Mixing live action with state-of-the-art CGI animation, this adaptation of the popular TV series casts Jason Lee as Dave, a struggling songwriter who befriends a trio of talkative chipmunks.

When the cute critters start performing Dave’s songs, Dave sees the potential of a singing chipmunk act and becomes an unlikely mentor to feisty Alvin, brainy Simon, and dim-witted Theodore. But when a devious record executive (David Cross) enters the picture, Alvin and the Chipmunks must deal with both the trappings of fame and their loyalty to Dave.
