As the bubonic plague sweeps though Medieval England claiming everyone in its path, whispers of a remote village where victims of the pestilence are said to return from the dead prompt a young monk to set out in search of the truth. The further he journeys, however, the more he begins to suspect that the leader of the village has entered into a diabolical pact with the forces of darkness.
