When the young, materialistic Brian Flanagan (Cruise) teams up with veteran bartender Doug Coughlin (Brown), their showy, cocktail-tossing act makes them Manhattan’s hottest servers. After a falling out with Doug, Brian takes off for Jamaica where he falls for a waitress, Jordan Mooney (Shue). Their relationship is put on hold when Brian meets a rich New York fashion executive (Lisa Banes). Eager to live the high life, Brian leaves Jordan and returns to Manhattan. But when Brian finally realizes that love makes him happier than money, he seeks out Jordan and tries to win her back.
