Martin Lawrence (Bad Boys II) stars as Chicago cop James Porter, an overprotective and overbearing father who wants to keep an eye on his college-bound daughter, Melanie (Raven-Symoné). When Melanie plans a road trip with her girlfriends to check out prospective colleges, James steps in, insisting he escort her on the cross-country trip. While James has only the best intentions, his presence leads to an endless series of comic complications neither father nor daughter will ever forget.
