After suffering a blow to his head, Cooper (Broderick) suffers from post-concussion memory loss. While recuperating, he visits his mother who is trying to move his senile Uncle Rollie (Alda) into a nursing home. Rollie is desperate to stay at home and reveals that he possesses an ultra-rare baseball card. Cooper believes the card could provide Rollie with enough money to have at-home help. Along with Charlotte (Madsen), Cooper’s old high school flame, the trio hits the open road and embarks on an unforgettable adventure to Chicago to sell the card at a memorabilia show.
