Having squandered his acting career, washed-up Hollywood star Joe Scott (Craig) receives word that his best friend from childhood has died. Joe travels back to the quiet English seaside village of his childhood to attend the funeral. Once there, he is bombarded with memories of his youth, reflecting on his summer of innocence and embarking on a journey of redemption and self-discovery.
