Stanley Yelnats (LaBeouf) is an honest kid whose family has been cursed for generations. When Stanley is falsely accused of stealing, he is sentenced to 18 months at Camp Green Lake. But when he gets there, he discovers the camp operates more like a prison. Each day, the menacing warden (Weaver) has the campers dig holes in the desert to “build character”. Fed up with their daily task, Stanley finally gathers up the courage to escape the camp with fellow escapee Zero (Khleo Thomas). When they stumble across a secret about Camp Green Lake that can expose it for the evil place that it is, it might just be what Stanley needs to erase his family curse forever.
