A college professor Ted (Cage) opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son’s elementary school and finds there are some chilling and accurate predictions of disasters - some that have already occurred and others that are about to occur. The eerie predictions lead him to believe his family plays a role in the events that are about to unfold. With the reluctant help of Diana Whelan (Byrne) and Abby (Robinson), her daughter and granddaughter of the now-deceased author of the cryptic prophecies, Ted's increasingly desperate efforts take him on a heart-pounding race against time until he finds himself facing the ultimate disaster—and the ultimate sacrifice.
