Based on the popular children's novel of the same name, Nim’s Island follows the adventures of Nim Rusoe (Breslin), a spirited young girl who lives on a remote island with her scientist dad, Jack (Butler). Ruled by her imagination, Nim's idyllic life gets shaken up when her father goes missing while on an ocean outing and careless tour companies wreak havoc on the secluded paradise. Seeking help to find Jack and save the island, Nim contacts reclusive author Alexandra Rover (Foster) to bring out the fictional hero in her books, explorer Alex Rover. Drawing courage from him, the trio finds strength in one another to protect the island and rescue Jack.
