Directed by Barry Levinson
Barry Levinson (What Just Happened) directs this Oscar-winning movie starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. When self-centered, materialistic Charlie Babbitt (Cruise) is informed that his wealthy, estranged father has died, he expects a big payout. But when he discovers that the beneficiary is Raymond Babbitt (Hoffman), the institutionalized, autistic older brother that Charlie never knew he had, he kidnaps Raymond, hoping to use him to claim half the fortune. However, during their cross-country adventure, Charlie not only learns how to deal with Raymond's eccentric behaviour, but also starts to care about his older brother and comes to the realization that there is a lot more to life than money.
