A U.S. infantry squad in the remote deserts of Afghanistan discovers that insurgents aren’t their biggest threat. After a series of explosions shatter the surface, a mass of giant prehistoric worms emerge, violently attacking anything in their path. With help from an Afghani refugee, the squad learns that their only chance of survival relies on them descending into the underground tunnels, sparking a war with the otherworldly creatures.
