In March 2003, Natalie Maines, the lead singer of the chart-topping group The Dixie Chicks, hit the headlines after she told a London audience that “we're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas."  The statement prompted a backlash from radio stations and conservative talk-show hosts. This behind-the-scenes documentary follows the trio during the controversy as they band together to win back fans and struggle to win back a place on country radio.

Despite the vitriol they face, the Chicks refuse to back down from their original statement and this intimate film reveals how it impacted their private lives as wives and mothers.
