In this sci-fi thriller set in the distant future, Johnny Rico (Van Dien) joins the elite Mobile Infantry after graduation to do his Federal service and also to win over his girlfriend, Carmen Ibanez (Richards), who has signed with the Fleet Academy to become a starship pilot. When Earth is attacked by alien insects intent on eradicating all human life, Johnny’s home and family are demolished. Determined to fight back, Johnny and the Mobile Infantry travel to the planet Klendathu to battle the warrior bugs in order to save the human race.
