A successful British ghost writer, The Ghost (McGregor), agrees to complete the memoirs of former British Prime Minister Adam Lang (Brosnan) when his former aid dies under mysterious consequences. When Lang is accused of committing a war, The Ghost delves into the unfinished manuscript and comes to the terrifying conclusion that his predecessor died because he discovered a link between Prime Minister Lang and the CIA, endangering is own life in the process.
