Mutants continue their struggle against a society that fears and mistrusts them. After a mutant named Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) reportedly tries to kill the US President, humans become even more suspicious of the group. The shocking attack renews the political and public outcry for a Mutant Registration Act. Leading the anti-mutant charge is William Stryker (Brian Cox), a wealthy former Army commander who is rumoured to have experimented on Wolverine (Jackman).

As Wolverine searches for clues to his origin, Stryker launches an attack on the school run by Professor Xavier (Stewart, Star Trek).  Magneto (McKellen), having escaped from his plastic prison, proposes a partnership with the X-Men to combat their common and formidable enemy: Stryker.

Forming an uneasy alliance with Magneto’s Brotherhood, the X-Men face their most dangerous mission ever.
