Based on the popular children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg (Jumanji), brothers Walter (Hutcherson) and Danny (Bobo) are constantly at war with one another. When their father (Tim Robbins) leaves for a business trip, older sister Lisa (Stewart) is left in charge of the feuding brothers. When Danny discovers an old board game called Zathura, the roll of the dice unexpectedly launches their home into outer space. With some help from an earthling astronaut (Shepard), Walter and Danny fend off menacing robots and angry aliens and discover that in order to get home they must work with each other to finish the game.
